In the beginning...
With a background in Plumbing since 1990 since the age of 10. Working with my father who at his passing in 2013 had 35+ years of extensive experience working as a full time plumber and, took the time to make sure that I knew a trade until I heard my country's call in 2002.
During my 4 years in the U.S. Coast Guard (‘02 - ‘06) I was able to develop my skills in; project management, team leadership, public relations and a “failure is not an option” mentality. The U.S. Coast Guard has a set of core values that I hold myself accountable to everyday in whatever endeavors I take on. These core values are comprised of 3 simple ideas:
- Devotion to duty
Before completing my 4 year obligation to active duty service with U.S. Coast Guard in 2005 my father asked to have a sit down conversation with him about my life after service. On June 1, 2005 my father and I had a meeting in which we discussed my plans for after military life and he went on to explain to me his vision for a family owned plumbing and heating service company. His plan entailed a 2 department service company: plumbing department and H.V.A.C department. The only way I would achieve this goal was to be hired by an H.V.A.C company to gain the hands on knowledge necessary to own and operate an H.V.A.C company of my own. After this meeting I decided to enter the H.V.A.C. Field and started to attend H.V.A.C schools to achieve that goal in order to transition myself from military life into civilian life.
In October of 2005 I was offered a job with a small commercial company. This was single handedly the best experience I had in the H.V.A.C. Field. The owners of this company hired my based on my military experience knowing that I was highly trainable and they took me directly under their wing to show me the business.
In 2014 I made a decision to further challenge myself and accepted a position in the law enforcement field with the Massachusetts dept of corrections. This challenge that I took upon myself and with the support of my family, offered me yet another challenge and another set of core values. Utilizing this opportunity would further develop my interpersonal skills, project managerial skills and, skills related to; rapid thinking in stressful situations, proper improvisation skills related to emergency situations and, my extreme attention to detail.
